Anime Tactical Simulator Evolution Guide — How to Evolve and Upgrade Units

Evolution is one of the most important progression mechanics in Anime Tactical Simulator. It upgrades a unit's rarity tier — for example, transforming an Epic unit into a Legendary version or a Legendary into a Mythic. Evolution permanently boosts all of a unit's base stats including HP, ATK, DEF, and SPD, and usually unlocks an enhanced version of their skill. Evolved units become significantly stronger than their base forms, making evolution the primary way to power up your team beyond simple leveling. Every serious player should understand the evolution system early to plan their resource spending efficiently.

To evolve a unit, you need three things: the base unit at maximum level, specific evolution materials, and a Gem cost that scales with the target rarity. Evolution Stones are the primary material and come in different tiers matching the rarity you are evolving toward — Rare Stones, Epic Stones, Legendary Stones, and Mythic Stones. Each evolution also requires a fixed number of duplicate units or universal shards in some cases. With limited resources, choosing which units to evolve first is a critical decision. Our priority recommendation is to always evolve your primary DPS first, as the damage increase directly translates to faster farming and dungeon clearing. For players with Tactical or Mythic units, evolving Mugetsu or Aizen should be the top priority as these S-Tier characters benefit the most from the stat increase. Vegito is also an excellent evolution target due to his accessible duplicate path through the Fusion System. After your main DPS, evolve your Tank to improve survivability, then your Support. Never evolve a unit you plan to replace soon. Visit the Mage Sorcerer NPC with the required Souls (obtained from Lady Knight NPC) plus a duplicate unit to begin evolution.

Evolution Stones drop primarily from Dungeon mode. Higher dungeon floors have better drop rates for rarer materials. Floors one through three drop Rare and Epic Stones. Floors four through seven drop Epic and Legendary Stones. Floors eight through ten drop Legendary and Mythic Stones. Each dungeon attempt costs one Dungeon Key, so farming evolution materials requires a steady supply of keys from codes, daily rewards, and shop purchases. The most efficient strategy is to farm the highest dungeon floor you can consistently clear without failing, as failed attempts waste keys without giving any materials.

Use this priority order when deciding which evolutions to pursue: S-Tier DPS units first — Mugetsu, Aizen, and Vegito are the top three evolution targets in the game. After your primary DPS, evolve your main Tank, then your Support unit. Never evolve lower-tier units unless you have no better options — the evolution materials and Souls are better saved for future pulls.
