Discover the strongest team compositions for adventure, dungeon, and PvP modes in ATS. Includes F2P and premium team recommendations.
Team Building Basics
Every squad in Anime Tactical Simulator has four unit slots, and the difference between a random group and a synergized team is enormous. Synergy means picking units whose abilities complement each other — for example, pairing a unit that buffs ATK with your highest-damage DPS, or combining a Tank's damage reflection with a Healer's sustain. The best teams are built around a clear strategy: burst damage for dungeons, sustained AOE for adventure farming, or a balance of offense and defense for PvP. Understanding these synergies is what separates casual players from those who clear endgame content efficiently.
Best Adventure Team
For adventure world farming, you want maximum AOE damage with enough survivability to run indefinitely. The meta adventure team pairs your strongest AOE damage dealer with Vegito for single-target burst, a Tank for frontline absorption, and a Healer or Support to keep the squad alive. Mugetsu and Aizen are the best AOE carries — Mugetsu clears waves faster than any alternative while Aizen's DEF debuff amplifies your entire team's damage. Vegito's defense-piercing Final Kamehameha handles elite enemies. Fill the remaining slots with any Tank and Support units you have available.
Best Dungeon Team
The Dungeon is the hardest PvE content and requires a different approach than adventure farming. Boss fights on upper floors have enrage timers, damage reflection phases, and healing immunity windows. The recommended dungeon team focuses on burst DPS with defensive utility. Lead with Aizen whose Kyoka Suigetsu reduces all enemy DEF by 50%, then follow up with Mugetsu for devastating AOE burst damage during the debuff window. Fill with a Tank unit for frontline protection and a Support for healing. Vegito's defense-piercing skill is excellent for boss fights where enemy DEF is very high. This composition can clear up to floor 10 with sufficient investment.
Best F2P Team
Free-to-play players do not need Mythic-rarity units to clear the vast majority of content. Free-to-play success depends on making the most of whatever units you pull. Focus on building a balanced squad with one DPS carry, one Tank, one Support, and one flex slot. If you obtain Vegito from the Starter Pack, he instantly becomes your best carry. Otherwise, use the strongest DPS you pull from banners and invest all your XP Potions and evolution materials into that single unit. A focused F2P team with one well-invested carry can clear over ninety percent of all content including dungeon floors up to seven.
How Team Composition Changes by Dungeon Floor
The optimal team changes as you progress deeper into the Dungeon. Floors one through three require no special strategy — any team with reasonable stats can clear them. Floors four through seven introduce boss mechanics that demand dedicated healing or shielding, making a dedicated healer or shielder essential. Floors eight through ten feature bosses with enrage timers where raw DPS matters most — swap a support unit for a second DPS if you have enough survivability. The most common mistake in dungeon runs is using the same team for every floor without adapting to the specific boss mechanics.
Team Synergies Explained
Synergy goes beyond just having strong individual units. Certain combinations trigger multiplicative bonuses. Aizen's DEF debuff stacks multiplicatively with Mugetsu's already-high base ATK for devastating skill damage. Timing Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu before Mugetsu's Final Getsuga Tensho creates the highest damage combo in the game. Vegito's defense-piercing skill bypasses enemy DEF entirely, making him the ideal choice when Aizen's debuff is on cooldown. A Tank with taunt draws aggro away from your DPS, letting them freely deal damage. Understanding these interactions and building your team around them is the key to clearing the hardest content in the game.
